    Another NBSI conference tradition is Lighting the Another NBSI conference tradition is Lighting the Fire, an evening where anyone can tell a story. This year more than 27 people gathered after a long day of sessions. We laughed, cried, and were especially entertained as Davide, from Italy, invited Jim to help tell The Rooster and the Fox. We were in stitches. Every one of us has a story worth telling—and sometimes all we need is a welcoming circle willing to listen.

At this year's Network of Biblical Storytellers International conference (NBSI), 23 storytellers joined together to tell passages from Ezekiel and Revelation entirely from memory.

I had the privilege of beginning the telling. Just before I stepped onto the stage, two people offered to pray for me; their encouragement stilled my heart. Their example reminded me how important it is to pass it on.

Who can you encourage today?
    The book of Job has always been a challenge for me The book of Job has always been a challenge for me...This year's NBSI keynote speaker, Amy McLaughlin Sheasby, explored the book of Job through the theme Wounded Wholeness. Rather than trying to explain suffering, we were invited to discover how God meets us within it. Her thoughtful expression of it inspired my newesr blog: When Words Aren't Enough: Lessons from Job.
