Discovery and Sharing God’s Light through Story.

On January 1st, 2024 I became the President of the Network of Biblical Storytellers, Int. Our  mission is: “Encouraging everyone to learn and tell biblical stories.” When we tell the story the Bible comes to life.

I joined this organization in 1994 but then  was climbing the corporate ladder and had to take a leave of absence. In retirement I became fully engaged and now am thrilled to be on the leadership team with an excellent Board of Directors.

Biblical storytelling continued to be important to me in my leave of absence and my husband joined me in telling Biblical stories all over Long Island.

I also discovered a new genre of Biblical fiction with the introduction to Pearl in the Sand, by Tessa Afshar. After reading how it also brought the Bible to life, I bought 15 copies and asked the recipients of my local church to join me in discussions. That one book led me to a whole new purpose in my life.

Motivated by the meaningful discussions of faith-based books, I started a nonprofit, called Seeds of Faith for Women and established in 2018 four book groups still thriving. I hope you may be interested in starting one.

My keynote speaker for my first annual Seeds of Faith Retreat was award-winning author Tessa Afshar. After my telling an Old Testament story that changed the course of history for women, she encouraged me to write about it. Pursuing writing introduced me to an amazing cloud of witnesses in writers, teachers and mentors. I am a contributing writer to Courage to Write and am pursuing publishing my first Biblical fiction.

Another door opened when I met Mojdeh Hassini and Fredda Klopfer. Together we co-created Daughters of Abraham gathering a group of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish women to have thoughtful and meaningful dialogue in sharing our faith stories. We recognize our commonalities and respect our differences. Don’t we need that now?
My passion is to share God’s stories of unfailing love, to find joy everyday even in tough times, and be the light in someone’s life. Will you join me in spreading seeds of faith?
