Roger and I had a great time discovering what was happening in the world when we entered it.

Another fascinating find was this anchor from the 18th-century HMS Bounty, recovered during a National Geographic expedition. What amazed us even more is how its legacy has continued through the centuries.

A full-scale reconstruction of the Bounty was built in 1960 for the film Mutiny on the Bounty, appeared again in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), and even inspired the name of a Klingon ship in Star Trek.

History has a remarkable way of living on in unexpected places. It's amazing how one story can continue to capture imaginations across generations.

What story from the past still inspires you today?

Amazing exhibition from photographer Joel Sartore, called Animals of Earth. His life's mission is to catalog every cared-for animal on the planet to inspire people to support our planet and endangered animals. It was fantastic! It will be a visiting exhibit; don't miss it if it comes to your area! There were so many great shots. I will do this in two posts. Part 1
