There are few places where we share, even among our own tradition, loved hearing the diverse stories, opinions and beliefs of everyone.
So grateful for your courage, openness and generosity.
I loved hearing other’s stories. What their religion brings to them personally and how it effects their daily life.
We need this today; we need to know we are more alike than different. Hearing these stories I leave so inspired and wish there were more of this in the world.
Daughters of Abraham Background
Daughters of Abraham gathers together a group of Christian, Muslim and Jewish women to share stories of their faith journeys. We seek to understand each other, be inspired by our commonalities, and celebrate our differences. By sharing our faith stories, we create a community of respect and mutual trust.
We asked participants to bring something meaningful to their faith. Mojdeh brought a black hijab. “This clothing might frighten you, but to me this is a symbol of love. It was my grandmother’s and she used to hug me and my brother under it.”
Our faith stories break down walls replacing it with love.
“It was Lisa who had the vision and the organizational skills to create our dream of creating a group of Christian, Muslim and Jewish women together to share our faith stories. Lisa brings so much to our group in terms of ideas, inspiration and most of all a deep spirituality that radiates and embraces all three of our faiths. She is our moderator and has a gift for making people feel welcome and willing to share their faith stories.”—Fredda Klopfer
