I feel so right about abide as my word of the year. The Bible mentions abide 186 times, which I think says something about how quickly we move through life. Abiding means centering your attention on what you are doing. Boy do I need to do that...What about you? Does this word ring a bell with you?

I Forgot Dessert Pear Pockets. Did you forget a dessert for a New Year's Eve dinner? I did. I'm blessed that my husband loves to cook. One night, he made Beef Wellington, a favorite of our guests, and I totally forgot dessert. With two pears and some leftover Wellington pastry dough, it all came together. Bon Appetit.
